This Report, covering the period from January 1st to December 31st 2010, must be read in conjunction with what exposed in the previous editions and, in particular, with the similar Report of 2009.
The main objective of the Annual Policy Report on immigration and asylum policy is that of providing to the reader an updated and documented version of the developments (at legislative, political, institutional and, more generally, at social level) that have occurred during 2010. The Report also examines the impact of EU policy developments on immigration and asylum in the national context.
As in the past, this seventh edition of the Report aims to provide a contribution to the final report that the Brussels Commission is called to draw up on the progress made in implementing the European Pact on Immigration and Asylum and the commitments taken subsequent to the Stockholm Programme.
