This tool has been elaborated by the European Migration Network (EMN) within the context of the Glossary and Thesaurus Working Group that, since several years, has been operating at the European Commission with the involvement of all Member States.
The Glossary is intended to serve as a useful reference for practitioners in the field of migration and asylum. The systematic presentation of the use and common interpretation of the proposed terms is an instrument that will allow policy makers and professionals operating in this field at national and EU level to adequately compare national contexts and experiences, in order to facilitate the harmonization of migration and asylum policies.
This Italian edition of the EMN multilingual Glossary on Migration and Asylum, that was published in English language in Brussels in 2010, contains new terms as well as specific notes appositely edited for Italian readers.
