The MIRIS Master of La Sapienza University, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Sociology and Communication, aims to improve the professional capacity of people dealing with the migration and asylum phenomenon at various levels and with different responsibilities (research, planning, service management, etc.), with particular reference to the fields of education, communication (mass media and new media) and public services.
This was the occasion to present the First EMN Report, which focuses on issues of particular relevance relating to the migratory phenomenon in Italy, such as the organization of migration and asylum policies, the labour market and the flows of qualified workers, and finally the health sector, which is characterized by the presence of many qualified workers from abroad. Starting from the statistics, the lesson focused on explaining the opportunities represented by foreign workers (in particular those qualified) for the Italian labour market, and some problematic aspects of the organization of migration policies.
